Seychelles - Boarding the plane at Johannesburg International Airport was an exciting experience for me. The sun was shining and the passengers were dressed in brightly coloured clothes. I've always associated aeroplanes with the beginning of a holiday to an exotic location far, far away. The excitement in our party of nine adults and three children was tangible. We were going on the holiday of a lifetime. We were flying to a tiny island paradise in the Indian Ocean called the Seychelles to spend a week on a houseboat cruising around the islands. None of us had ever been to such an exotic location... Read More
Malaysia - Sipadan Island - Reputably one of the best diving spots in the world, the uniqueness of Sipadan Island lies in its geographic makeup. In addition, the entire reef area of 513 acres functions as the habitat for soft and hard corals, as well as home to over 3000 species of fish. Hawksbill and green turtles are common in Sipadan. But seeing such an Eden is not the only reason to visit this vast region. There's another. "Black Pearls". Cultured in French Polynesia since the 70's, these rare pearls are a treasure worthy of an overseas expedition. But before you pack that outrigger canoe, get some unique insights about these gems from an expert...Read More

For local weather, visit the beach area page and click 'Local Climate'. A chart gives a weather rundown for the best season. All tropical climates are humid, but some more so.
