Grenada Beaches

Want to go to south for the season, but are tired of fighting last nite's revelers for a spot on the beach? Then book that flight to Grenada at the far end of the Caribbean Islands. Here you’ll find a uniquely laid back Caribbean lifestyle, where you can relax and unwind hassle free. The amiable people of this little nation will make you never want to leave.

And there are enough Grenada beaches to please even the most confirmed beach buzzards. Grand Anse is the primary tourist beach. Here you’ll find several miles of sumptuous white sand and crystaline waters. Best of all it’s rarely crowded. Move down the coast to Morne Rouge and you’ll find an equally attractive beach backed by shady trees.

For something more secluded, head down the coast to Pink Gin Beach, where the water is as clear as that notorious liquor and the sand as soft as your honey’s - well, you get the picture. If you’re looking for a romantic beach that's off the beaten path, take a boat, or hike in to Black Bay on the southern tip of Grenada. This pristine beach of finely ground black volcanic rock is fringed by a splendid grove of palms. The effect is simply stunning. So grab your Adam or Eve and head back to the Garden.

If peaceful and laid back are not slow enough for you, cruise on over to Carriacou, Grenada’s second island, and really unwind the clock. With the exception of a few savvy travelers and the locals, most everyone has overlooked this tropical gem. In addition to world-class beaches, there are several deserted islands to explore just off the coast. And did I mention that this is one of the most reasonably priced islands in the entire Caribbean? If you like things that are authentic at bargain prices, you’ll love Carriacou.

Let's keep it safe out there! Because ocean conditions change daily, follow these rules: (1) Always check with 'locals' about hazards before entering the water, (2) Obey all 'warning flags', (3) Swim inside 'safety areas' provided, (4) Never swim alone, and (5) Never swim far out. Finally, when in doubt, don't go in.
