You could make one of the Canary Islands beaches your summer retreat. Not that you’d be all alone, because these islands near the coast of North Africa have attracted quite a following for good reason. With moderate temperatures, almost no rain and constant sunshine it’s the ideal place to bronze that perfect body you’ve worked on all winter. - OK, so you can still get a nice tan.
Regardless of its shape this is the place to show off your body, because 'textiles' and 'naturists' co-exist here in a harmony not found in most places. Sun worshippers of all varieties can find an appropriate niche in which to relax and enjoy the seaside with a self determined amount of modesty.
What does this island paradise lack? Golden sand in many of its coastal areas. Not to worry. These inspired islanders borrowed a bit of sand from Africa. So when you're lazing about on Tenerife’s Teresitas Beach, you are actually sitting on a wayward bit of the Sahara, imported just for your pleasure. "You are so spoiled."
If the desert motif strikes your fancy and you picture yourself as 'Lawrence of Arabia' seated astride a camel crossing windswept dunes, then live out your fantasy at Maspalomas Beach where camels are available for hire to would-be desert campaigners. The dunes are only one kilometer wide so it won’t take forever to cross them and you can find beverages and food at the local bistros along the way.
"To Aqaba! - Why won't this camel go any faster?"
For a less ‘Urban Larry’ experience hop over to Corralejo beach at the northern tip of Fuerteventura Island. Here, you'll find miles of wild coast on which to play desert denizen in more comfort and style.

Finally, when in doubt, don't go in. | |||||||
