Looking for a tranquil setting for your next tropical sojourn? Then perhaps a St. Kitts or Nevis beach is the best place for your winter holiday. This island nation not far from Anguilla is about as peaceful as it gets in the Caribbean. It’s the ultimate destination for stressed-out over-achievers. After lazing in the shade of a palm all day and counting falling stars all evening, you‘ll feel like a different person.

And finding a restful St. Kitts beach is not very difficult because there aren‘t any other kind. For a laid-back strand with many comforts and amenities, check out North Frigate Bay, where most of the island's resorts are located. For another relaxing spot to unwind on, drive south down the coast to South Friars Bay. A few days spent here will recharge those brain cells so you can return to that fast paced urban life ready for whatever comes your way

If you need even more seclusion to mend those frazzled nerves, head for one of the pristine Nevis beaches, where waves whisper endless mantras of sublime serenity. Sitting on Pinneys Beach with its green volcanic slopes cascading down behind you, all your city born stresses will slip away like grains of sand through an hourglass.

To ensure your anti-stress regimen holds, spend a little time at Cades Bay or Lovers Beach located further north along the coast. Here you can look up and down the beach and ask that proverbial question: "Where’d everybody go?"

And when you get home don't forget to flaunt that 'power tan' at the office for the benefit of your co-workers. That's called a 'stress exchange.'

Let's keep it safe out there! Because ocean conditions change daily, follow these rules: (1) Always check with 'locals' about hazards before entering the water, (2) Obey all 'warning flags', (3) Swim inside 'safety areas' provided, (4) Never swim alone, and (5) Never swim far out. Finally, when in doubt, don't go in.
